In 2013, we released the first version of Javelin, our integrated cost and schedule analysis tool. Back then, we saw the promise of the UN/CEFACT XML standard; gluing schedule and cost data together, regardless of the native application that hosted the data. We applied our expertise gained from our Analyzer product and added some pretty cool innovations like wrap-around columns and Galaxy Charts.
Three years later, I'm sad to announce that we are discontinuing sales of Javelin. The reason is pretty straightforward: sales of Javelin have not been high enough to justify the attention and resources required to maintain our high standards for quality and service. We have ambitious R&D plans for Analyzer and will focus our resources on extending its leadership role in the schedule quality space.
Of course, we will continue to support Javelin and provide bug fixes through all of our customers' maintenance periods. We are open to another organization taking over stewardship of the product. We're also open to discussing the grant of perpetual licenses (without support) to anyone who wants to continue using it.
While we're disappointed, we feel that it's in the best interests of all involved and hope that you, our Steelray community, understand.
