Steelray Task Tracker Pro is identical to our standard version of STT, with one important new feature: you can import and update tasks from Microsoft Project.
How Does STT Pro Integrate With Microsoft Project?
One way of looking at a project file is as a set of to do lists. Each resource working on the project has a list of tasks assigned to them. STT will let you import your list of tasks and automatically generate to do items for each task that you're assigned.
Even better, if the project file is prepared for task updates, STT can send email updates to the project manager when you mark a task as complete. The whole process is explained on the Steelray Task Update web page, with one exception. In step 2, instead of using Steelray Project Viewer to update the task, you'll use Steelray Task Tracker instead. When you mark an item imported from a prepared Project file, STT will send an email to the project manager.
The email will be compatible with our Steelray Task Update Outlook Plugin to automatically update the original project file.
