When do Items get Journaled?
By default, STT will automatically store your completed items in your journal. This archival process happens at two different times:
- At midnight every night (if STT is running).
- Each time you start the application.
Note: You can turn off this automatic archival by "unchecking" Automatically Archive in the Preferences dialog.
When STT begins archiving, it looks for items that were marked complete on the previous day (or earlier). It removes those items and moves them to the journal, so long as the item doesn't have unfinished "children."
You may want to manually archive your items, to journal the ones you've already completed without waiting until midnight or the next day. Pressing Ctrl+J (the Control key and the J key) will cause the archive to happen immediately.
