TroubleShooting a Missing Score Button

When Steelray Project Analyzer is installed, a Score button should appear within Microsoft Project as shown below.

If this Score button does not appear after installation or the Score button has disappeared, we have identified a number of things to try to get your Score button back.

  1. Disabled Items.
Project will sometimes put Add-Ins into Disabled Items.  To view disabled items within Project, select Help followed by About Microsoft Project.  Click the Disabled Items button on the lower right hand side.  If Steelray Project Analyzer is in this list, remove it.  It may be necessary to close and restart Microsoft Project.
  2. The Steelray Project Analyzer Add-In has been disabled.
Microsoft Project has a list of 3rd party Add-In's that have been installed.  This is referred to as COM Add-Ins.  By default, this screen is not shown within Project.  To enable it, select Customize and then Toolbars from The Tools menu within Project.  Select the Commands tab.  Select Tools from the Categories and scroll about 1/4 of the way down to find COM Add-Ins.

At this point you can drag and drop the COM Add-Ins command onto your toolbar or into your menu structure.  Once this is accomplished, close the Customize dialog.  Now click the newly created COM Add-Ins menu item to display the list.

Steelray Project Analyzer should be in the list.

If SPA is not in the list, the installation may have failed and a reinstall may fix the problem.
If SPA is in the list, but unchecked, please place a check next to SPA, close and restart Project.

If SPA is in the list and checked, uncheck SPA, close and restart Project, then check SPA in the list.
