Evaluation Guide
We recommend printing this page and closing this browser Window.
Request an evaluation license key, and you'll have the full version of Steelray for a 10-day evaluation period.
On the steelray.com website, click on the Download menu item (on the left side of the page). Fill out the form and click on the "Continue" button.
Should you decide to purchase Steelray, you will not need to download again and reinstall. Simply enter your purchased license key in Steelray, and you're running the full version.
To begin your download
Click on one of the links on the download page, depending on your operating system (Windows, Linux, etc).
Detailed Download Instructions
When you click on one of the download links, you should see a window that looks like this:
Click Save. You should see a Window like this:
We're using "xxxxx" instead of the actual version. Don't worry if the version you see if different.
Make a note of the location you're saving to (in this example, it's your "My Documents" folder. Click the Save button.
Your download will begin. When it finishes, you'll see a window similar to this one:
You can launch the Steelray installation program from the Download window by clicking on the Open button.
Or, if you've already closed the window, locate the installation program and open it by double-clicking on it. (The image shown here will have a different version. Don't worry if yours is different.
The installation program will launch.
Detailed Installation Instructions
When the installation starts, one of the first windows you will see is the Welcome Window:
Click on the Next button to proceed.
Read the Steelray License Agreement:
If you accept the terms, click on the "I accept the terms" button and click on the Next button.
In the next window, a suggested location for installing the software is displayed:
You may accept the suggested location by clicking the Next button. To change the location, click on the Change button. We recommend accepting the suggested location.
You are now ready to proceed with the installation:
Click on the Install button to start copying the file to your PC. When the files are completely installed, you will see this window:
Click on the Finish button to close the installation program.
You've downloaded Steelray and installed it successfully. Now it's time to try it out.
You can launch Steelray Project Viewer in one of three ways:
| 1 | Double-click on the desktop icon.

| 2 | Launch it from the Start Menu.

| 3 | Double-click on an .mpp file.
|
On your Windows desktop, locate the icon shown on the left and double-click it.
Enter Your License Key
The first time you start Steelray, you'll be asked whether you wish to enter a license key.
If you requested a key in Step 1, click the button to enter a license key. Check your email and enter the key in the dialog box. Then, click on the OK button.
Open a Project File
After Steelray Project Viewer starts, you will be asked for the location and name of a project file to open.
- Navigate to the folder where your project file is located.
- Select the .mpp file you wish to open.
- Click on the Open button.
That's it! If everything went well, you've successully downloaded, installed, and run Steelray Project Viewer, and you should be viewing your first project file.
